Loughborough Bellfoundry Trust appointed Redman Design to re-design the museum and deliver site-wide interpretation at Taylor’s Bellfoundry, the last remaining major bellfoundry in Britain.
A timeline introduces objects from the archives that illustrate key moments in the history of bell making at Taylor’s. The introduction of museum standard showcases allows a wider range of objects to be displayed.
In addition to exhibition design and contract administration, Redman Design undertook the design of the object mounts, their manufacture, and the installation of the collections.
Bespoke mounts were designed, manufactured and installed by our in-house mount making team, bringing collections to life.
The design of the museum seeks to capture the atmosphere and character of the workshop spaces with large scale images creating immersive environments.
Site-wide interpretation brings the whole site to life explaining the process of bell making and highlighting key features of the building.
