Danum Gallery, Library, and Museum is a new landmark building designed to provide a fit for purpose home for Doncaster’s library and heritage assets for future generations of visitors from the Borough and from further afield.
This is a place where people can actively engage with a wide variety of objects, art, books, film and imagery and stories that connect to Doncaster, the Borough, Yorkshire and the wider world; the ambition is to transform the way that Doncaster and its people see themselves, instilling a deep sense of pride, identity and aspiration.
Doncaster’s unique blend of collections is now a powerful storytelling tool which, together with an ongoing programme of activities, will enable visitors to rediscover their own stories and uncover Doncaster’s treasures, from the deep past right up to the present day.
Redman Design undertook the design of case layouts, manufacture of bespoke mounts and the installation of objects throughout the museum.
The building has also provided a new home for the rail heritage collection and the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry Museum which have been located on the ground floor.
